Danielle upskills and completes CIM Marketing Programme
Our senior PR and marketing account manager, Danielle, recently completed a CIM Marketing Programme course with The Chartered Insitute of Marketing.
The course involved learning about strategic marketing planning, managing brands, customer journey mapping, customer insights, product innovation, marketing communications and evaluation.
The intensive course was delivered online and combined being taught and having interactive groups to come up with campaigns and discuss ideas.
Some of the key points delivered were:
- Marketing needs to drive two outcomes: Mental availability and physical availability
- Put the customer at the heart of marketing – customer centricity
- Brilliant marketing sells functional and emotional benefits
- The importance of strategic imperatives – what you must do to win
- Coming up with SMART objectives and KPIs
- The importance of insight
- Marketing strategies can take 3-5 years to work
- Developing evergreen content
- Putting together strategy
- Evaluation and reporting
We caught up with Danielle, who said: “This course was brilliant in refreshing strategy learning and keeping up-to-date with trends and developments in marketing. Learnings will really benefit our clients and also reminding me of the importance of testing and evaluating in marketing – and remembering to step into the customer’s shoes.”
What is marketing? The CIM defines it as: Marketing is the management process responsible for identifying, anticipating and satisfying customer requirements profitably.
